This weekend’s season-ending grand prix in Abu Dhabi will see Jack Doohan take Esteban Ocon’s seat at Alpine.
In 2025, the Australian has already committed to race for Alpine with Pierre Gasly, Ocon’s teammate.
In order to enable Ocon to drive for his new team, Haas, in the post-season test in Abu Dhabi on December 10, the decision to choose Doohan early was made.
Although Ocon’s contract with Alpine was set to expire at the end of the year, it is advantageous for everyone if he is released early.
Before the first race of the upcoming season, which is his home grand prix in Melbourne, it allows Doohan, the son of five-time MotoGP champion Mick Doohan, to experience a big prix weekend.
