ISLAMABAD: Former President Dr. Arif Alvi is one of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and party members currently living overseas who are engaged in what the government and establishment claim is “the anti-state and anti-army campaign” while advocating for the free-Imran Khan campaign, especially in the United States.
Authorities claimed that the PTI diaspora and its leadership overseas crossed the line in multiple instances, targeted the army and its top command, and even harmed the interests of the country, despite the party’s insistence that its campaign overseas is for the rule of law and against the persecution of the party and its top leadership.
The majority of PTI lobbying and campaigns took place in Washington.
