Under a new joint venture with longtime rights holders Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, Amazon’s MGM Studios will assume creative control of the “James Bond” film franchise, the tech behemoth (AMZN.O) announced Thursday.
As fans eagerly await the 26th Bond movie and the announcement of who will don the recognizable tuxedo following Daniel Craig’s 2021 departure, the agreement will enable Amazon to play a more active role in the franchise.
