Mike Peters claimed that the news had come “oout of the blue” for him and his family in a statement posted on the band’s website.
The 65-year-old from Prestatyn, Denbighshire, had revealed that he would no longer be able to travel within the United States, just days before the band was scheduled to start their US tour.
On April 21, Mr. Peters claimed to have woken up with a huge swollen gland on the left side of his neck.
According to scan results, his high grade lymphoma had developed from his chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
High-grade lymphomas require immediate treatment, but they typically react better to it, according to the website.
Mr. Peters stated that before confirming his new treatment plan, he is awaiting additional results.
