MULTAN: PTI leaders Meher Bano Qureshi, Zahid Bahar Hashmi, and seven other individuals were acquitted by a judicial magistrate at a Multan court on Saturday, stating that the evidence against them was insufficient for further proceedings. The PTI leaders and supporters were arrested by the police for violating Section 144 as the former ruling held rallies across the province to commemorate February 8 as “Black Day,” the anniversary of last year’s contentious elections. The local police presented the suspects to the magistrate and requested their judicial remand, but the magistrate denied the investigation officer’s request and ordered their release. The police confirmed that all of the suspects have been released in accordance with the court’s directive.
