The event happened at Col (retired) Arif Mahmood Interchange, which is close to Kamahan village. Police had sealed the area for security reasons because the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) was hosting a public meeting in Kahna on the same day. The incident happened at around 6:30 p.m.
Security SP Khalid Mahmood Afzal, Kahna Circle DSP Fakhar Raja, and Mulsim Town SHO Nadeem Kamboh were among the police officers who were disciplined.
According to an official aware of the development, DIG Imran Kishwar of the Lahore Organised Crime Unit (OCU) conducted an inquiry that led to the action taken against the officers.
During the PTI protest, DSP and SHO were directing traffic when they stopped the family on Ring Road.
He claims that after watching the Punjab Safe recordings, the DIG contacted all three police officers.
