Two restaurants in Islamabad have been closed by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for producing fictitious sales receipts.
After the Regional Tax Office used point-of-sale (POS) tracking software to identify the establishments and verify that counterfeit receipts had been issued, this action was taken.
Each establishment has received a Rs 500,000 fine for its unlawful actions.
A Point of Sale Reward Scheme was recently launched by the FBR with the goal of improving tax compliance among Islamabad’s tier 1 restaurants and merchants.
With intentions to go countrywide next month, this campaign, which was introduced on October 25, encourages people to report fraudulent bills.
