When Emma Stone made fun of singer Taylor Swift at the Golden Globes, calling her a “a**hole,” she demonstrated to the audience how well-understood they are by each other.
After Emma, 35, won the best film actress prize for her role in the film Poor Things, there was a question concerning Taylor Swift’s response to the news. When Emma’s victory was declared, Swift erupted in joyous cheers and applause.
Emma joked about Swift’s response, saying, “What an asshole. She and I go back almost twenty years. She was there, which made me extremely happy, and tonight she was nominated, which was fantastic. Indeed, what a jackass.”
Emma said on stage following her Golden Globe win for playing Bella Baxter in Poor Things: “Thank you, this is fantastic. Dave, I need to get started with you right away. You have my undying love. I’m grateful for what you’ve done.”
“Yorgos, I don’t know what I could say to you that I haven’t said to you already,” she said, praising filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos. But I’ll always be happy that we crossed paths. Indefinitely. And it was amazing to portray Bella.”
Emma’s TV show The Curse earned her a nomination for Best Actress in a Dramatic TV Series as well. Her nominations for the seventh and eighth Golden Globes were these.
