According to a royal family statement, Prince Edward, King Charles’ younger brother, traveled to Scotland this week to see the World Wheelchair Curling Championships.
In the Paralympic sport of wheelchair curling, competitors with impairments participate in teams to toss stones onto ice.
According to the statement, Team England and Team Scotland’s coaches and athletes met with the Duke of Edinburgh, the British Paralympic Association’s patron, before witnessing their performance.
“His Royal Highness even took to the ice and threw a curling stone to the eight-foot with a curling cue!” it read.
Following Prince Philip’s death, Edward inherited his father’s royal title, Duke of Edinburgh.
