During the State Opening of Parliament, King Charles seems to become irritated with his robe.

The King was getting ready to address the House of Lords with a speech outlining the goals of the new Labour government.
Two young pages in crimson tunics tried to arrange his robe as he sat on the throne, wearing the Imperial State Crown and the Robe of State made of velvet and ermine.

king When the page boy attempted to wrap his robe over the throne, the King appeared to draw back his hand.

Before one of the boys could lay the material over the side of the throne, the monarch seemed to take matters into his own hands.

The Queen, whose 77th birthday celebrations had been postponed for the State Opening of Parliament ceremony, sat behind the King.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer promised to “get Britain building” in the King’s Speech.

the Planning”My ministers will get Britain building, including through planning reform, as they seek to accelerate the delivery of high-quality infrastructure and housing [Planning and Infrastructure Bill],” the monarch stated.

“They will also encourage investment in industry, skills, and new technology in order to achieve sustainable growth.
