Although dust storms and thunderstorms are expected in the country’s upper regions from May 16 to 19, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that the current heatwave conditions could turn into a “severe heatwave” between May 23 and May 27.
According to the Met Office’s daily weather forecast, heatwave conditions are expected to develop over most of the nation starting on May 21. This is especially likely to happen over Punjab and Sindh because of high pressure in the upper atmosphere. It further stated that from May 23 to May 27, those circumstances might turn into a severe heatwave.
“Day temperatures in Sindh and Punjab are expected to stay 04 to 06°C above normal from 21 to 23 and 06 to 08°C from 23 onwards.”
