A group of 38 workers who were traveling to a resort in Taroko National Park at the time of the earthquake are among the more than 40 persons who are still unaccounted for.
Drones and helicopters have been sent in to search for anybody who may still be stranded on Taiwan’s cross-island highway, which links the country’s east and west coasts and crosses a canyon.
Supplies will be dropped, according to authorities, to anyone they find in the gorge who may have become stuck after visiting the well-known tourist attraction.
It follows the 77 individuals who were stranded underground in the Jinwen and Dachingshui tunnels in Hualian country.
