Ed Gamble featured a picture of the well-known barbecue mainstay on posters promoting his next Hot Diggity Dog tour.
However, the stand-up comedian was instructed to change the billboard when it was submitted to TfL to be displayed on the London Underground because it did not adhere to the company’s junk food advertising policy.
Thus, the 38-year-old, who most recently played the Traitors’ host: Uncloaked, offered to substitute a cucumber for the hot dog.
“I actually don’t have a problem with the TfL regulations, they make sense to me,” he said.
“However, the new posters advocate for something far more dangerous: the notion that cucumbers go well with mustard and ketchup.
“The hot dog was only on the billboard because I wanted to eat during the photo session, so I’m not upset that I had to take it out.
“Hopefully it’s not too late to change the title of the show to Cu Diggity Cucumber?”
