KARACHI: Based on the probable appearance of the Shawwal moon, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast that Eid ul Fitr will occur on March 31.
Officials predict that the moon will be born on March 29 at 3:58 p.m.
According to the department, the moon will be around 27 hours old and well visible by the time it is sighted on March 30.
The likelihood of seeing the moon increases because it will stay in the sky for seventy minutes after sunset.
The agency added that while moons that are 16 to 18 hours old can be seen with telescopes, moons that are 20 hours old are often visible to the unaided eye.
