A member of parliament has reported that an eight-year-old child has been discovered alive after surviving for five days in a northern Zimbabwean game area that is home to lions and elephants.
According to Mashonaland West MP Mutsa Murombedzi on X, the nightmare started when Tinotenda Pudu strayed into the “perilous” Matusadona Game Park, 23 kilometers (14 miles) from home.
She claimed that he slept for five days “amidst roaring lions, passing elephants, eating wild fruits, on a rocky perch.”
There are roughly forty lions at Matusadona Game Park. According to African Parks, it once boasted one of the largest concentrations of lions in Africa.
The BBC received confirmation of the occurrence from the Zimbabwe Parks & Wildlife Management Authority, but no other information was provided.
