ISLAMABAD Justice (retd) Ejaz Afzal Khan defended his decision to disqualify former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, while affirming that the Supreme Court judges chose the members of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in the Panama Papers case.
He claimed that a WhatsApp call was made and military troops were included in the investigation to prevent any involvement from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government.
For the first time, Justice (retd) Ejaz, one of the five judges on the Panama Papers bench, talked about his decision in the case, the formation of the JIT, and the process of choosing its members.
