The Colombian forward scored his team’s second goal against Bologna in the Champions League on Tuesday, marking his first start at Villa Park in eleven months.
When Ollie Watkins took Duran’s place right away, his festivities were cut short, and he became irate and kicked the back of one of the dugout chairs.
However, Unai Emery is not very offended by Duran’s response.
With Duran currently scoring seven goals in all competitions and Watkins scoring five, Villa is having one of their strongest season starts in years.
Matt Upson, a former England defender, told Radio, “Duran scored another goal and is blazing.”
Three weeks later, on a memorable night in front of the floodlights at Villa Park, Duran came off the bench to score the game’s lone goal, making him the game’s hero.
This season, he has only started once, in the Carbao Cup victory over Wycombe Wanderers of League One.
Duran had five of his team’s sixteen shots against Bologna, including two on goal. His second goal, which came after an assist from the outstanding Morgan Rogers, beat Lukasz Skorupski from close range.
