Doping is permitted in The Games, a proposed Olympic-style competition.
Australian billionaire Aron D’Souza founded the event in 2023, and it would be exempt from World Anti-Doping Agency regulations.
Perkins stated, “The idea of an Enhanced Games is laughable,” on Tuesday at the newsconference.
“Someone will die if we allow that sort of environment to continue to prosper and flourish.”
“We don’t want people to be taking performance-enhancing drugs because of the significant impact it has on them and their future and their future families,” said swimmer Perkins, a former Olympic, world, and Commonwealth champion.
“We’re health-testing to make sure our athletes are healthy and safe to compete,” he stated. “I want no athlete to suffer harm or pass away while competing.
“How will we go about doing this? By performing complete physical examinations, including blood tests, echocardiograms, and maybe MRIs, on each of our athletes.
