In Surrey, engineers are building a new bridge close to Junction 10 in an effort to reduce traffic and boost security.
The third shutdown of the year occurred this past weekend, affecting a section that sees up to 6,000 cars drive through in each direction between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. on weekends.
Travelers are advised to make advance plans because events like the Euros final, festivals, and a possible change in the weather may cause more cars than usual to be on the road.

What’s the distraction, and where is the closure?
The highway between Junctions 10 and 11 will be closed from 9 p.m. on Friday, July 12 to 6 a.m. on Monday, July 15. A 10-mile detour will be put in its place.
The path from Junction 10 to 11 is as follows:
Traveling north on the A3 to Painshill Junction, then the A245 to Woking, and finally the A320 to M25 Junction 11.
Looking from Junction 11 to 10:
Head south on the A320 towards Woking, then south on the A245 towards Byfleet and Painshill junction. Finally, head south on the A3 towards Junction 10.
