The statewide demonstrations over the high cost of power on Sunday, September 29, were condemned by the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on Tuesday.
Details indicate that JI Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman declared: “All district headquarters will host protests.” There will also be a referendum on whether or not to pay the bills.
“For the demands to be fulfilled, there will be nationwide protests,” he declared.
“A new stage is reached by Haq Do Awami Tehreek. Giving the people their rights and relief is the main goal of this campaign, he stated.
“The main goal of our movement is to help the masses. The proposal was provided by the government and was appropriate for execution.
He declared, “The IPPs have forced the masses to pay heavy amounts.”
