Following an extended period of drop, industry analysts now forecast that as import volumes decline, solar panel costs could stabilize or possibly rise in the upcoming months.
As purchasers scrambled to fulfill the rising demand for renewable energy solutions, the recent decline in the price of solar modules resulted in a spike in imports. But new information indicates a big change. Pakistan imported 1,010 MW of solar panels in September 2024, a 63% decrease from the peak of 2,762 MW in April. With imports of 1,121MW in August, this declining trend persisted.
Shipment delays and other logistical issues are the primary cause of the dramatic decline in imports, leaving a supply of solar panels mostly made up of months’ worth of excess inventory.
