The startling news is that 25 participants in the May 9, 2023, strikes on governmental sites have been sentenced by military courts.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) made the news on Saturday.
The army’s media wing stated: “Field General Court Martial (FGCM) have in [the] first phase promulgated the punishments to 25 accused” in reference to the defendants who used violence during the May 9 protests.
After Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was arrested in connection with a fraud case, the protests broke out. As a result, numerous PTI employees were taken into custody, and over 100 civilians are awaiting military trials.
Defense analysts and specialists mostly praised the military court’s ruling when it was rendered, citing its importance.
