After the government presented a report outlining the facilities offered to detainees kept in military custody, the Lahore High Court (LHC) decided a petition about those facilities.
Justice Muhammad Wahid Khan presided over the hearing on Thursday, which focused on a plea submitted by Kainat Gul, who was represented by Barrister Khadija Siddiqui. A report detailing the facilities accessible to the detainees was presented by the government’s attorney.
The petitioner’s attorney said at the hearing that the detainees had started to get all required facilities, including visits and now even cots, after the court’s instructions.
If more than one detainee were kept in the same cell, the government’s attorney expressed worries about possible conflicts. In response, Justice Wahid Khan asked the authorities to offer all facilities available and said that such clashes were unlikely.
