Following the release of the first of several official Israeli military reports that exposed the army’s methods in Kibbutz Be’eri, which is close to the Gaza border barrier, Yoav Gallant made his remarks.
On October 7, more people perished in the kibbutz than in any other Israeli settlement as gunmen broke out of Gaza and ransacked the homes there.
According to Mr. Gallant, an impartial national investigation is required to look at how Hamas has expanded throughout the country and the conduct of all those in authority, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In the historic attack last October, around 1,200 people were killed, and 251 others were taken as prisoners back to Gaza.
According to the health ministry operated by Hamas, it resulted in a significant Israeli military offensive in Gaza that has killed over 38,000 Palestinians.
The kibbutz members, who are also calling for a national investigation, stated that it was critical that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) acknowledge that they were not adequately protected.
