The book fair, which features 33 stands showcasing 100,000 books, will run until October 5 in addition to the mela, which runs until October 9.
Kisan Mela features a farmers conference, a greyhound race, a Kabaddi, a Gur Mela, a dog show, a poetry competition, a mares competition, a food and nutrition mela, a tent pegging competition, an agricultural exhibition, and a photo exhibition.
VC Dr. Iqrar Ahmad spoke at the book fair’s opening ceremony and urged people to read more because books have always been loyal and honest friends to mankind.
Dr. Muhammad Riaz Virk, the convener of the Kisan Mela, stated that the mela offers a forum for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including agricultural scientists, farmers, policymakers, industry, and the public sector, to collaborate on projects related to agricultural sustainability and development.
