RAWALPINDI: The military’s media wing announced on Tuesday that Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hamid had been formally charged with a number of offenses, including breaking the Official Secrets Act and participating in political activities.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) warned in a statement that these violations had jeopardized state interests and security. The charges also include inflicting unfair losses on individuals and abusing government resources and authority.
On August 12, Lt Gen (retd) Hamid, the former chief of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), was subject to a field general court martial (FGCM) in accordance with the Pakistan Army Act.
