LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) formally announced on Sunday that batter Fakhar Zaman and other players had been passed over for the 12-month central contracts, while left-arm bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, the former captain of Pakistan, had been downgraded.
Shaheen, who was previously in Category A along with Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, is now in Category B on the board’s list of central contracts for 25 players.
A number of players are not even covered by the central contracts, as Babar and Rizwan are the only players in Category A. Fakhar, Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Haris, Ihsanullah, Shahnawaz Dahani, and former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed are some of these players.
