After Elle King performed at Dolly Parton’s birthday celebration on Friday, her admirers are taking to social media to voice their disapproval.
King can be seen jokingly addressing the audience during her performance in a TikTok video that user @jamiek721, while she is performing, says, “You ain’t getting your money back.”
She went on, “I’ll tell you one thing more, hi, my name is Elle King, I’m f–king hammered.”
“I’ll tell you one thing, I can barely play another person’s song let me see if I can play you one of mine,” King said as he got ready to start another song.

In an additional video, the 34-year-old was seen fumbling through the lyrics to Parton’s song “Marry Me” and declaring to the crowd, “I don’t give a s—t.”
Social media was used by country music fans to voice their dissatisfaction with the performance.
“Elle King brought disgrace to one of the greatest legends in the world, if not the entire country. How dare you,” one person commented.
“Elle King owes the Grand Ole Opry an apology for drunk cussing and messing up her performance during a Dolly Parton tribute,” stated another.
Another person said, “Elle King. How impolite. not just to Dolly but to every individual who has ever stepped onto that platform. I really can’t believe it at all.”

Dolly Parton would have felt ashamed. It was unfortunate that we all had to see that as it was our first time at The Opry.”
