In order to combat the pollution problem on a warlike basis, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has issued urgent directions that require the wearing of masks by citizens and the implementation of environmental standards. To address the declining air quality in Lahore, all departments have been mobilized with stringent deadlines and accountability mechanisms.
The implementation of an emergency smog-reduction strategy will be supervised by Senior Punjab Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, who is calling on the populace to actively participate in what she refers to as “a jihad against urban pollution.”
She underlined the significance of personal accountability, especially in the fight against smog originating from international sources. She pointed out that shifting Indian wind patterns cause variations in the city’s air quality score.
The Punjab Chief Minister launched the 10-year pollution management plan six months ago with the goal of implementing long-lasting changes in air quality.
