In a case that horrified the UK, a British-Pakistani child named Sara Sharif died from lengthy and horrifying mistreatment. Today, a UK court will sentence her father and stepmother.
Sara’s 30-year-old stepmother, Beinash Batool, and her 43-year-old father, Urfan Sharif, were found guilty last week after a 10-week trial at London’s Old Bailey and could receive life sentences for murder, according to a UK news site.
When Sara was discovered dead in her bed in August 2023, she was just ten years old. Her body was covered in burn marks, shattered bones, and bite marks.
According to a post-mortem, she had at least 25 shattered bones and over 100 injuries.
