MARDAN: In a call for a dark day in the nation’s history, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), reaffirmed his commitment to continue opposing the “illegitimate” government structure through democratic means on February 8, 2024.
Speaking to reporters in Mardan, he criticized the administration, saying it was founded on massive electoral fraud, according to The News.
He claimed that the general elections held last year were the most rigged in Pakistan’s history.
He declared, “Today is a dark day as [on this day] the government was established on the basis of rigging,” just one day after the general elections of 2024.
He also charged the government with violating the rights of the populace, especially the impoverished. Claims of economic stability were rejected by him.
