The Trump administration’s increased arrests of undocumented migrants, which target both criminals and people without criminal records, are causing anxiety and uneasiness in immigrant communities around the United States.
Since Donald Trump took office on January 20, federal officials have detained hundreds of undocumented migrants, expanding raids in cities around the nation, including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Denver.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated on Tuesday that although criminal arrests will be given priority, no one in the nation is “off the table” in terms of illegal activity.
Some migrants in some communities have chosen to avoid work or keep their kids home from school as a result of the arrests.
Since Trump’s return to the White House, more than 3,500 undocumented migrants have been taken into custody.
