ISLAMABAD: The Senate was briefed by Federal Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar on the pay, benefits, and other benefits of federal ministers.
Minister Tarar gave thorough details regarding the pay and benefits of lawmakers during the Senate’s question period. He mentioned that Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) are paid Rs156,000 per month.
He did clarify, though, that lawmakers are not given cars and are only given Rs 8,000 per month to pay their utility bills.
Minister Tarar further disclosed that 95% of federal ministers choose not to get their full remuneration, which is close to Rs200,000. Ministers are also given a 1500cc car and 400 liters of gasoline, but they are not given any additional official benefits and are responsible for paying their own gas and electricity bills.
