Authorities have stepped up their efforts to prosecute those who entered Pakistan using fictitious business and medical visas, in light of the continued prohibition on visitation visas for Afghan nationals.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) filed a lawsuit against three Afghan women who were detained at the Karachi airport while trying to enter Germany using forged passports as part of an investigation into the case of Afghan people entering Pakistan on false pretenses and then leaving the country.
The first inmate, Aziza Mohammadi, entered Pakistan on a medical visa, claiming she needed treatment, according to FIA officials. According to the documents she gave, she was receiving care at an Islamabad hospital. But it became out that this was her first trip to Pakistan after the probe.
