GUJRANWALA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) revealed Tuesday that a boat capsized near Libya, killing at least seven Pakistanis.
According to the FIA, seven of the deceased were recognized by their passports; six of them were from the Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while one was from Bajaur.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) reported that a boat carrying about 65 people capsized close to the port of Marsa Dela, northwest of Zawiya City, Libya, the day before the agency confirmed the incident. There were about sixteen Pakistanis on board.
According to the ministry, a delegation from the Pakistani Embassy in Tripoli was sent to Zawiya Hospital to help the local authorities identify the deceased.
