The showcase final was supposed to take place at the San Siro, but European football’s governing body decided to take it away from Milan after Milan officials did not convince Uefa that scheduled redevelopment work would not interfere with the event.
AC Milan and Inter Milan are discussing developing a new stadium in the San Siro neighborhood.
In May or June of 2025, the new host stadium for the 2027 championship game is anticipated to be revealed.
The choice was made during a Tuesday meeting of the Uefa Executive Committee, which also decided on adjustments to the organization’s solidarity funds.
Up until and including 2026–2027, the solidarity payments of the “big five” European leagues—the Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1, Serie A, and Bundesliga—will be capped at 10 million euros (£8.3 million) per season.
There are now 308 million euros (£256.3 million) to be shared, up from 177.2 million euros (£147.4 million) in the previous cycle. This represents an increase of 1.5 million euros over the previous cycle.
Clubs that do not compete in European competitions receive the cash.
