According to FIFA’s annual report on women’s soccer, the average yearly wage for a female professional player worldwide is $10,900; however, this statistic is skewed by a few elite clubs.
According to the “Setting the Pace, FIFA Benchmarking Report on Women’s Football” published on Monday, the average salary among the 41 clubs from 16 countries that FIFA designated as Tier 1 was approximately $24,030, but 16 of those top clubs paid an average gross salary of over $50,000.
Of those, the maximum salary was around $120,000.
However, Tier 2 and Tier 3 clubs paid an average gross income of $4,361 and $2,805, respectively.
