On Wednesday, the fifth mpox case was reported in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The province health minister, Qasim Ali Shah, sent a video message confirming the news. He said that the patient’s arrival at Islamabad International Airport on September 7 was the most recent incident.
He next made his way to Peshawar, where he lodged at a hotel before receiving medical attention at a private facility.
The patient was admitted to his Lower Dir house and confined in quarantine without much contact with others after arriving. He met no relatives and had no meaningful conversations with anyone he didn’t travel with.
