SLAMABAD: Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq has appointed five members to the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP), including four members of the upper and lower houses and one woman.
According to the NA Secretariat on Saturday, the NA speaker forwarded the names of the 13-member commission to the Supreme Judicial Commission (SJC) by letter.
Judges for the Supreme Court, High Courts, and Federal Shariat Court shall be chosen by the JCP. Additionally, it will produce the judges’ yearly performance reviews and supervise their work.
Following the passage of the 26th Constitutional Amendment, the commission was reorganized and will henceforth include of parliamentarians.
