Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s death anniversary was observed in Dhaka for the first time in Bangladeshi history.
The Dhaka Tribune said on Thursday that Urdu music and poetry were performed and spoken in the nation’s capital city as part of the celebration honoring the 76th anniversary of Jinnah.
According to the publication, the Nawab Salimullah Academy hosted the event at the National Press Club in Dhaka’s Tofazzal Hossain Manik Miah Hall.
The chief guest of the occasion was supposed to be the Pakistani high commissioner to Bangladesh, but he was unable to confirm his attendance. Meanwhile there was Kamran Dhangal, the Deputy High Commissioner.
Prof. Dr. Mostafizur also gave a keynote address during the ceremony that outlined the course of Jinnah’s life.
