BAJAUR: According to authorities, a “remote-controlled” bomb blast that targeted a car in the Bajur region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday resulted in the deaths of at least five persons, including former senator Hidayat Ullah.
According to Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Bakht Munir, the incident happened in the village of Damadola in Bajaur. A remote-controlled device was used to attack the former senator’s vehicle.
He said that four other people, including Hidayat, a former independent senator from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), also perished in the bombing.
In relation to the electioneering of his nephew, Najeeb Ullah Khan, a candidate in the PK-22 constituency, he traveled to Damadola village. According to investigators, he was returning to Bajaur’s headquarters in Khar town when he was attacked by a horrifying bomb.
