According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, five people have been detained in relation to six bodies that were discovered in a Southern California desert last week. These bodies are thought to be the consequence of a marijuana dispute.
According to USA Today, the six remains were found last week in the Mojave Desert close to El Mirage, California, an unincorporated town located roughly 50 miles northeast of Los Angeles County.
Sergeant Michael Warrick stated that when deputies arrived at a crime scene near Highway 395 in El Mirage last week, they discovered two automobiles, one of which had sustained several gunshot wounds, and many gunshot victims.
According to Warrick, five dead had been found in one of the vehicles, and four more had suffered severe burns.
After a thorough investigation, authorities executed several search warrants in San Bernardino County and the surrounding area of Los Angeles County, according to Warrick.
Five suspects were taken into custody by the department: Jose Gregorio Hernandez-Sarabia, 34; Jose Manuel Burgos Parra, 26; Mateo Baez-Duarte, 24; Toniel Baez-Duarte, 34; Jose Nicolas Hernandez-Sarabia, 33.
Shannon Dicus, the sheriff for San Bernardino County, stated, “This is an area known for illicit marijuana.” “It looks like illicit marijuana was the driving force behind these murders.”
Warrick said the inquiry is still going strong.
