Tuesday’s torrential rains brought on by a cold front flooded towns and roads, causing a train to derrail, automobiles to be washed through streets, and damage to homes and structures.
Six people in the Castilla La Mancha region were reported missing earlier by the national government office for the area, which spoke to radio station Cadena Ser.
The river that flows through Letur, close to the Sierra de Segura, overflowed its banks, trapping thirty persons.
Numerous social media videos seemed to depict individuals stranded in floodwaters, with others clinging to trees to prevent being carried away.
Some residents were rescued from their homes by authorities using helicopters.
Floodwater was shown rising into lower levels of residences and even dragging cars along the street in other videos that Spanish stations aired.
Due to emergency services’ inability to reach all impacted areas, hundreds of individuals who were trapped in flooded areas or looking for loved ones called radio and television stations for assistance.
