The Marala area of the Chenab River is under a flood warning from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), with medium to high-level flooding expected between July 4 and July 7.
A PDMA representative stated that an alarm has been out to the areas near the Chenab River due to the steadily rising water level at Marala. Sialkot, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, and Hafizabad are some of these districts.
Additionally, instructions have been given to the deputy commissioners of Chiniot, Jhang, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Multan, and Rajanpur to make sure that plans are in place to prevent unfavorable incidents.
Irfan Ali Kathia, the director general of PDMA Punjab, stressed the significance of maintaining staff alertness in emergency control rooms and making sure that rescue 1122 personnel, in particular, are on high alert.
