ISLAMABAD In response to the KP government’s plan to send delegates to Afghanistan for discussions on security and economic connections, the international Office reiterated that international matters are within federal jurisdiction, according to a Monday story in The News.
Speaking to our correspondent, international office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated that “the federal government is responsible for foreign affairs under the Constitution.”
According to federal government sources, a senior KP government official recently announced that the federal government would be consulted after finishing the assignment for consigning the delegations. This meant that the delegations would be sent out once the federal government gave its approval.
It is acknowledged that before approving the proposal, the federal government will consider all relevant factors.
