The Foreign Office stated on Sunday that all Pakistani citizens were safe in Syria despite the recent skirmishes and the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s administration, but they were cautioned to use caution.
Airlines have canceled flights to Lahore and other locations, leaving almost 250 pilgrims stranded in the troubled nation.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, a spokesman for the Foreign Office, said in a statement: “We are closely monitoring the evolving situation in Syria.”
The Pakistani embassy in Syria was available for assistance and guidance, she said.
Damascus Airport is currently closed. Zaireen and other trapped Pakistani people are still in communication with our embassy. When the airport reopen, it will make it easier for them to return.
She added that Pakistan has consistently backed territorial integrity, unity, and sovereignty.
