Overnight emails advising Canadian clients to “be vigilant and take steps to protect against identity theft and fraud” were sent out.
Although the corporation has not commented on the notification procedure, victims in the US and Mexico have purportedly received emails identical to this one.
The incident resulted in the theft of 560 million Ticketmaster users’ personal information globally, which cybercriminals then tried to resell online.
When the news questioned Ticketmaster about why it took so long to alert customers to the risks they face, the company did not reply.
The hackers themselves first revealed the breach, and then Ticketmaster sent a warning to its stockholders.
The only details given by Ticketmaster were that names and basic contact information had been compromised by hackers; no other information was disclosed.
Furthermore, hackers managed to obtain encrypted credit card information; however, the business has not responded to a request for additional information about the encryption’s security.
