At approximately 6:35 p.m. on Wednesday, Merseyside Police received a call reporting that a man had been shot in Quarryside Drive, Kirkby.
The guy was rushed to the hospital by North West Ambulance Service paramedics after receiving on-site treatment; however, he passed away shortly after.
Photographs from the area showed a cordon and multiple police cars along the residential street, which is located less than two miles from the training ground of Liverpool FC.
The Liverpool Echo was informed by a mother-of-two that she “heard loads of loud bangs” when she was in her yard, according to the victim’s neighbor.
She claimed to have urged her kids to “get down on the floor” after assuming it was gunfire.
“I merely wanted to confirm their well-being. After that, I grabbed my daughter and left the house,” she remarked.
Detective Superintendent Mark Drew stated: “This evening, a murder investigation is underway in response to a horrifying and tragic incident in which a man was shot and died.”
