KARACHI: According to police sources on Tuesday, Afaq Ahmed, the head of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi, was arrested in a significant development after speaking to the media about the increase in traffic accidents in Karachi.
“Afaq Ahmed was arrested for making a provocative statement,” according to people with knowledge of the situation.
A representative for MQM-H, meanwhile, verified that Afaq was arrested from his home at the Defence Housing Authority (DHA).
The spokeswoman stated that the authorities had not yet notified them of his whereabouts.
Speaking at a press conference earlier today, the head of MQM-Haqiqi asserted that in just 40 days in Karachi, the dumper trucks took 92 valuable lives.
