Burger King, KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and McDonald’s have all taken action and eliminated fresh onions from their menus in a few US locations.
McDonald’s removed the quarter pounder from one-fifth of its US outlets due to an epidemic that was thought to have been caused by the item.
According to reports, the onions were supplied by the California-based business Taylor Farms.
Now, inspectors are also looking into beef patties to see whether they might be impacted as well.
However, while the quarter-pounder is served with raw onions, properly cooked beef kills E. coli.
The well-liked burger has been removed from eateries in sections of Idaho, Iowa, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, as well as Colorado, Kansas, Utah, and Wyoming.
The McDonald’s epidemic has resulted in at least ten hospitalizations, including one youngster who developed a serious kidney illness consequence.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that illnesses were confirmed between September 27 and October 11.
